Indirect Ambient Lighting by Lightolier
Good indirect lighting minimizes the variation in ceiling brightness.There are two crucial layout variables: the suspension distance from
the ceiling and the spacing between rows of luminaries. The greater the suspension distance, the further the luminaries can
be spaced while controlling ceiling brightness. Indirect lighting reflects light off of the ceiling or walls to create
a soft, diffused spread of light. Most people find totally indirect lighting more comfortable than direct lighting. Indirect lighting mutes
shadows and can sometimes make a space feel flat and dull. Therefore, effective indirect lighting uses fixtures that emit some visible brightness
(luminous indirect), a distinct component of direct light, or aggresively combine accent and ambient lighting.
